5 Ways to rock a Bold Lip
I’ve been all about the eyes pretty much since I learnt how to do my own make up. As a teen having naturally full lips I never really knew what to do with them, without feeling a bit like a drag queen or feeling too overdone. However, as I’ve grown up I’ve learnt to appreciate my full lips & have done a lot of experimenting with different lip products to find out what works for me. My current obsession is bold. Big, bold & colourful lips. I’ve been wearing them everyday & I just find it’s a fun & slightly more adventurous way to add colour & interest to your makeup looks.
Vamp it up.
We couldn’t talk about bold lips without talking about red now could we? It’s a classic, & a bold statement of femininity. I personally feel like pillarbox has seen it’s day. Don’t get me wrong, it’ll always be a classic but in my opinion it’s time for a revamp. For an updated & sexy red lip, follow in the footsteps of Jaclyn Hill & use a red shades darker than pillarbox, opt for a matte finish for a more contemporary look; & team it with a soft brown smokey eye for a sultry & sophisticated evening look.

Daytime Fuchsia
It’s time to work the colour at the office. Adding a bold lip to your work wardrobe is a great way to add a sense of style & character to your professional persona. Keep it simple & rock your fuchsia lip with a super nude base, soft brows & a killer tailored suit to show your colleagues who’s boss.

Heart Purple
Mix up your palette & step away from the traditional reds & pinks; be brave & add a splash of playful colour by opting for a deep yet bright purple. Jaclyn Hill has done it again & shows us how to rock this lip for a fun & flirty day to night look.

90’s Nude
Bold lips don’t always have to be bright. Bring the 90’s back with a warm brown nude that ‘s perfect for adding a little warmth to those chilly winter days. This look may not be bright or shocking but it definitely makes a statement; especially when teamed with a big fluttery cat eye like Nikkia Joy has perfected for us below.

Mistress of the Dark
This lip works really well as casual glam during those darker winter days; or as a sultry & seductive evening look all year round. This look is all about the lips; so we need to keep the rest of the face simple, yet alluring, so we can accentuate the lips even more. Team your deep dark colour with a simple winged eye, minimal bronzing & a vintage up do for a shocking & powerful pout.
