FRANCESCA EVE

Couture Bridal collections you have to see!

It’s always the right time to look for your wedding dress, always; even if you don’t have a groom yet (yes even then it’s OK). The Bridal collections of the year always differ so much throughout the seasons & whether you’re planning for the big day (or not) it’s hard to not appreciate the handcrafted applique, the silk ruffles & the tulle layers. I’m here today to share with you some of my favourite looks from the current collections & why you should go couture. Enjoy.

We cannot have a wedding without Wang. We just can’t.

As per usual the Vera Wang SS2016 bridal collection is as always, an imaginative assortment of luxurious gowns enough to make any bride blush. When looking closely at the collection & the promotions I get the sense that the collection has been inspired from a dark underworld filled with sensual desires & fallen angels. Dramatic I know, but that’s how it sparks me. The gowns are created from a mix of fabrics & fine lace that create contrasting textures that closely resemble delicate feminine lingerie. It’s dark, it’s misunderstood, it’s sexy, it’s Wang.

This season Carolina Herrera has done it again & she’s created a collection of 18 stunning gowns that even Cinderella herself would be envious of. The 15/16 collections are feminine, elegant & super sexy in a very refined & luxurious way. She awakens traditional silks & laces with a sultry selection of low backs, sophisticated cleavage & structured bodies. She’s even kept in touch with our inner princesses with a number of her designs featuring full layered skirts & sweetheart necklines (very appropriate for a castle wedding).

Krikor Jabotian is a little less known than some of the bigger names & if you haven’t heard of him then you must head over to his website immediately; especially if you’re in the process of finding or designing your wedding dress. Jabotian is an independent Lebanese clothing designer with a bridal collection to literally die for. He has so much flare & individuality & it really shows through in his designs. His gowns are classic inspired & their heavily luxurious materials are stiffly structured & the detailing is immaculate. Despite his designs being quite modern, they also appear very regal, with integrated capes & slimming hems they really are fit for a queen.

Monique Lhuilier’s Spring 16 collection follows on in her ever so elegant & feminine style. The 31 gowns of the collection boast a heavy use of beaded lace throughout; & yards & yards of tulle that create naturally flowing designs of elegance & sheer sophistication.  The collection exudes all the glamour & allure that any bride wants to possess on her big day & you’re sure to radiate confidence & look effortlessly stunning in a Lhuilier gown.
