LUXURY PRIVATE SUPER YACHT DAZZLES THE OCEAN | Star Yacht

Italian-based yacht designer, Lobanov Design, reveals its latest gem of the ocean – the Star Yacht. In collaboration with the UK-based Naval Architects, BMT Nigel Gee, Lobanov Design have succeeded in taking super yachts to another level.
This iconic concept has been envisioned as a private yacht, with the possibility of it even becoming an exclusive private hotel. It will glisten across the ocean, lighting up the night sky, as the brightest star of the sea.
The innovative STAR project emerged after an exchange between Russian Designer Igor Lobanov and Alex Malybaev from the FIRMA branding agency, where Malybaev quickly scribbled this incredible idea down onto a napkin. With a discussion on how “modern architecture, product design and car design have no influence on yachts”, Lobanov decided he would set to work on something entirely unique that would bring this all together – and make Malybaev’s dream a reality.
Measuring 132m in length and over 60m in height, this impressive vessel will have a central cluster of 4 lifts to transport guests across the 8 decks. Lifts 1 and 3 will ‘extend from a sub-marine viewing area within the lifting keel up to a viewing platform on the eighth deck’, offering unparalleled views with ‘a range of visibility of over 20km’. This breath-taking yacht will also boast a maximum speed of 18+kts and a range of 5000nm at 14kts.
The Star Yacht’s ‘technical development features a symmetrically fore and aft double ended hullform, with all electric architecture and fully azimuthing propulsion’. The sleek design of the yacht will also enable it to rotate within its own length ‘to track the arc of the sun, free from the constraints of traditional anchors’.
With 3500m2 of luxury interior within 9000 gross tins, the exclusive ship will be able to accommodate up to 36 guests staying the night and over 200 during the day. The guest cabins will be located on the main deck, whilst deluxe VIP suites will be located on the top three. The vessel will also have a private helipad, allowing its privileged guests to arrive or depart in style when they like.
Design director of BMT Nigel Gee, James Roy, says that “STAR is a tangible view of a 21st century interpretation of art and science”, where the most adventurous designs can be made possible with today’s technology. This alluring luxury private yacht has caught the attention of many with its striking star-mirage design that illuminates the ocean as its sails through the night. Who wouldn’t want their own luxury private yacht like this?
