At MIND OF SK we are massive fans of music. We have compiled a list of the songs we are currently listening to on REPEAT at our HQ.
The next time you find yourself working on a project of your own, or planning your next billion pound rated idea, try having these in the background. Music is Music in my opinion and I am not confined to specific genres.
Music is a massive healer and guide. Listening to specific words, harmonies, skits or relating to something in a song in some way, can consciously or sub-consciously sway you in the right direction. You calm down when you listen to specific songs or you get fired up.

5} Lil Wayne – I’m Me
Originally off on the rappers EP “THE LEAK” and ending up on the deluxe edition of his masterpiece album ‘Tha Carter III’, this song is giving all of at HQ a buzzing effect. When you are trying to accomplish something that exists only in your head, you can hit a lot of walls along the way from people not understanding your point. Speaking to entrepreneurs, other successful people and doing my own research, I’ve come to the conclusion that you should genuinely be yourself. Fitting we are listening to “I’m Me”. Follow your path and never get swayed.
4} Collie Buddz - Gimmie Love
With the weather growing on us, listening to some reggae in nature whilst working, fully opens up your mind. You gain access to an unknown energy that fuels your spirit and you get an urge to keep working on your master plan. “Gimmie Love” is a beautiful song. I’m sure many of you have either forgotten this song or you don’t even know it. This love song really does make you feel “cute”, especially if you know the words and sing along to it (With a joint of course). Well rediscover this love reggae masterpiece.
ADVISE: Here at MIND OF SK we think it’s a great idea to work out doors. Find yourself a nice quiet spot, set up your little workstation and just get to it. The breeze makes you think and the birds singing make you smile. Being in the right frame or mind will produce your best work.
3} Magic! - Rude
This song by newbies MAGIC! Hit number 1 on the charts. It’s been a while since we have heard a great reggae inspired song in “modern mainstream” times. You couldn’t help yourself but to sing the lyrics anytime this song came on. It does modern reggae justice and what we loved about this genre were the amazing hooks they had. Selling over 8 million units this song will definitely get airplay for years to come.
2} Hozier – Take Me To Church
Mistakenly stumbling upon this song was a gift for me. I have had this song on repeat since I can remember. The strength in his voice is amazing and the song takes you on a journey. I was excited to learn this song had been nominated for a Grammy. This Irish musician is definitely someone to keep an eye on, as I believe we have not heard the last of him.
1} Jhene Aiko – Pretty Bird (Freestyle)
Jhene Aiko has recently stolen all our hearts. From her b2k days till now you can definitely see the growth of an amazing artist. This song gets me screaming along to it. Even in work mode I find myself taking a step back to admire her Sonic Vibrations.
