For ten glorious years, the Bugatti Veyron had been renowned as the prized luxury sports car in the luxury market prized by car fans and collectors alike for its quality and rarity with only 450 Veyrons in the marketplace. The Veyron has long been known as the world fastest car hitting breakneck speeds up to an incredible 258mph literally leaving all its competitors biting dust. The Veyron’s exclusivity and prestige has made it a must have item for wealthy stars and celebrities of every hue from Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger to pound for pound boxing genius Floyd “Money” Mayweather.

However, the Veyron has been showing its age with its competitors surpassing it informing Bugatti’s decision to retire the legendary car earlier this year with the Volkswagen owned company selling its last model titled ominously as “La Finale”. In its place, Bugatti are preparing a new model called the Chiron set to launched early 2016 and is expected to excel the Veyron in every respect which has car fans and collectors drooling given how long the Veyron dominated the luxury car market for so long.

The Chiron is reported to be more powerful than its predecessor with 1500 horsepower (Veyrons had 1000hp) and able to reach an incredible 288 miles per hour (Veyrons can hit 258mph, still a world record speed). This would make the Chiron the fastest and most powerful luxury car in the market and literally, much like the Veyron did, make the competition pale in comparison. The Chiron is also expected to be more expensive than the $1.5 million Veyron with the magazine Car and Driver estimating that car collectors may have to cough up a cool $2.5 million to add one to their collection. However, it’s hard to imagine that the $2.5 million price tag will be enough to put off the good and great opening their checkbooks for what’s sure to be Bugatti’s most exclusive offering yet.
In sum, Bugatti has so far not made Volkswagen a dime and in fact has cost their parent company millions but what Bugatti has cost in millions it has paid tenfold in greatness by building one of the great cars in modern history and with eventual release of the Chiron, Bugatti may continue its long held tradition of excellence for years to come.
