The New York Serenade

This majestic grand piano is embellished in 164,000 diamond-cut cubic zirconia stones with a polyester clear high gloss finish. 7,500 dazzling gems also glisten from the matching adjustable leather stool. The piano is said to ‘sparkle with various intensity, depending on the light condition’, which produces a beautiful range of ambiences for different music styles.

Inspired by Big Band Jazz and the swing years of 20th Century America, this musical treasure is the result of a father and daughter collaboration. The founder of Piano Solutions XXI, Gene Korolev, and his daughter, Katherine Banyasz, worked tirelessly to create the customised New York Serenade – taking them an entire year.

As specialists in piano restoration and custom piano design, the North Hollywood piano company aspired to design a handmade Steinway & Sons piano that captured New York’s musical essence. The alluring gems bring together nostalgic scenes from the renowned New York City life, including famous sites such as Grand Central station, Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, the Cotton Club, Steinway Hall, the New York Skyline and the Hudson River with an impressive moon shining over it. Dancing figures also entwine with these distinct patterns to signify the heart of Swing music.

The metallic candy blue cast iron plate adds to the mystical illusion of the New York Skyline and the gleaming moon that shimmers across the Piano lid. Banyasz said that they sought “to achieve a beautiful glowing effect” that portrayed “the energy of the city that never sleeps”. Well this enchanting design certainly captivates that with all this splendour.

With Korolev’s innovative craftsmanship behind the science of the piano, the New York Serenade produces a rich superb tone. A live-performance model LX high-resolution sound system is incorporated, with an advanced trap-work mechanism for self-operating pedals. This means that you can use your iPad wirelessly to transmit a soundtrack onto your home theatre system, offering an authentic live-performance piano experience.
