Have you ever loved the thought of scuba diving whilst on vacation but lament when it’s time to head back to land? Then this one, dear travellers, is for you.

The Manta Underwater Room, floating just offshore of Tanzania’s Pemba Island, is the signature piece of Swedish artist Mikael Genberg and a dream come true for divers and sunbathers alike.

Built to be a floating private island, your bedroom is four meters below surface level with unrivalled views of the clear blue surroundings and breathtaking marine life.

This unique structure consists of two floors of wooden decking from where you can soak up the sun and relax directly below the stars, lounge and dine in comfort before sleeping in the blue hole of the Indian Ocean’s coral reef.

Your stay is fully inclusive, so enjoy a fruit and pastry platter followed by a full English breakfast, lunch and 3 course dinners, your morning coffee to an evening cocktail and all drinks in between, a treatment at Kipepeo Spa each day and kayaks at the beach. And as always, free WIFI is available to use in the main lounge area of the resort. And if the waters aren’t enough for you, you have the option of booking a safari before you arrive at Manta, indulging in the best of both worlds.
