Vendôme Place Paris

France is famous for the Eiffel Tour and frog legs as the French gastronomic cuisine is very well known as one of the best in the world, but also France is famous for its sublime jewels.

Especially in Paris, Vendôme Place is a synonym of a high level of luxury. People from all over the whole world come to visit and to buy a watch, a necklace, a ring, a bracelet or some earrings.

This square place in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, close to the Rue de la Paix, has many jewels shops such as Chopard, Chaumet, Chanel, Boucheron, Bulgari, Dior, Cartier, Rolex, Piaget and one hotel called the Ritz. (Squares and Places are French terms. Do your research.)

At the centre of the square place is the original Vendôme Column that was erected by Napoleon I to commemorate the battle of Austerlitz, torn down on the 16th May 1871.

Since 2012, the Vendôme Place has been restore. The Ritz Hotel needed a massive restoration and decided to restore the Vendôme Column. The luxury hotel should open at the end of 2015 and attempts to be a palace.
